Assets have the potential to be enormously flexible if companies can effectively identify, locate and share their assets with employees through a successful Digital Asset Management (DAM) system - if this is put in place then this is the first step to flexibility. A recent IDG Enterprise survey states - “the average company now manages about 164 terabytes of data”. That means that every single asset a company owns is a piece of content that has definitive value to that company. With the right DAM solution the user can access, review, and manage all assets – common sense, but definitely uncommon in the current market place. Images, files, videos, and other content in a DAM must have the flexibility to be re-purposed efficiently and put into different contexts to get the most return on your investment. However current DAM solutions do not offer the full range of services when it comes to re-purposing. There are marketing templates and automation tools which can be used to enable the user to re-purpose assets for different campaigns or media channels. But there is growing pressure for companies to employ new technologies in order for them to be future fit. 65% of Chinese consumers aged 20-49 now use their mobile phone more than a desktop or laptop for online grocery shopping – illustrating the importance of making images look great on all device formats
