Companies who are in the process of choosing or implementing a Digital Asset Management system and those already with a successful DAM need to be aware of what the future holds, and what future software will be available to further increase the value of their assets. New DAM features Some of the latest technologies that are now being implemented within DAM’s including:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) With classic process optimisation, outsourcing and offshoring, models are reaching their limits and AI is beginning to come into its own. Machine learning through AI will enable DAM systems to not only gather and process Information on each user, but it will also be able to assess the assets within the system and therefore predict the users’ needs by recommending appropriate images from the system. Additionally the process of entering metadata and tagging assets will be made redundant, AI will be able to scan assets and create metadata tags. This will save large amounts of time in the process of uploading images and inputting the corresponding metadata. Chatbots A chatbot can be thought of as a virtual assistant that has access to a multitude of information and can perform many functions. They are also faster and more accurate than humans. Tech companies including Microsoft and Google are close to launching their first versions and it won’t be long before this functionality is brought to DAM systems. It will not only make the user experience simpler, but also faster and more accurate than word searches. This was brought to you by the team at Komposer.
